Google Majel(Google’s Siri?)

Google plans to make Android’s voice commend more Siri like(for lack of a better term) with a project they like to call Majel.

Yes, I know Majel, but hey it is a Google codename after all, and for those of you not getting the whole Majel thing lets turn to wiki for the answer:

Majel Barrett-Roddenberry (born Majel Leigh Hudec; February 23, 1932 – December 18, 2008) was an American actress and producer. She is perhaps best known for her role as Nurse Christine Chapel in the original Star Trek series, Lwaxana Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and for being the voice of most onboard computer interfaces throughout the series. She was also the wife of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry.

As the wife of Roddenberry and given her ongoing relationship with Star Trek – participating in some way in every series during her lifetime – she was sometimes referred to as “the First Lady of Star Trek”. She and Gene Roddenberry were married in Japan on August 6, 1969, after the cancellation of the original Star Trek series. They had one son together, Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry, Jr., born in 1974.

So, yea, here is how it all went and/or is going down in the eyes of me:

Google: Ha, as far as we know iPhones have no voice dictation or anything, so yea, now people can send text messages and search the web by talking into their phones.

Apple: Oh no you didn’t…

Google: Oh I think we just did, and furthermore, we will make it so people can call places by voice command also.

Apple: That’s it! We got you know, for we just have bought a company that does full voice command and we will integrate it into our next phone with better speech comprehension and more voice commands.

Google: We have a new voice project now, but it is a secret, so we will do what we always do with stuff we wanna keep secret and flood it all over the internet.
